We went to London in May 2016 for a prolonged bank holiday weekend. We visited two Slovenian friends working there and invited ourselves for a sleep over. Wizz Air once again proved to be our best choice with a low cost flight from Ljubljana.

Day 1

The arriving Luton airport is a bit remote but we managed to reach the city centre by train in no time. Our first London home was The Heron, a modern skyscrapper with amazing views. Jaka & Chengkai treated us really nice, we explored the neighbourhood and spent the afternoon together, eating mexican tapas. Nina took me to the amazing Royal Opera House in the evening to see The Winter’s Tale ballet. The interior is just crazy, sadly I didn’t have my camera on me.

DAY 2

It was a nice clear day. Probably not very London-like. We met up with Katja and Bojan for a brunch in Hampstead. We later took a sunny stroll from Hampstead to hip and crowded Camden. Greenwich Park seemed like a good idea for a sunny day so we caught a train to Cutty Sark and ascended the green hill. We relaxed in the park with an awesome view over the city.

A tourist boat later took us for a lovely ride on the River Thames under the Tower Bridge and past HMS Belfast. We arrived right at the Tower of London and took some photos. We finished the day with a dinner at Shoryu. Their ramen got to my top 5 meals of all time. Must. Have it. Again.

DAY 3

I guess we couldn’t have had two sunny days in London. We started off with a breakfast at Duck and Waffle and went on to check the western part of London centre. Another boat took us to London Eye, Westminster and Big Ben. After a short walk we reached the packed Buckingham Palace and continued to relax in St James's Park. We did a little shopping at the delightful Covent Garden market and called it a day. We spent the last night at Katja’s place since it was closer to Luton airport and we had an early flight home.
