We combined a friendly visit to Novo mesto with Grad Otočec, the only water castle in Slovenia, dating back to the 13th century. It is located on a small island in the middle of the Krka River. The island is linked to both banks of the river by two wooden bridges, so that one can drive straight through the islet to the opposite side of the river. An interesting visit!
