It’s been a while since I updated my journal. We adopted a dog, I changed my camera gear and we chilled at this beautiful spot by the river Sava Bohinjka.
One of those perfect autumn weekends, when everything turns golden. It seemed like everyone went hiking …
Steadily crossing the peaks above Pokljuka off the list one after another.
Another afternoon hike.
Starting point: Vrsic Pass (1611m).
Destination: Mala Mojstrovka (2332m).
Debela pec (2014m) rises steeply above the Krma valley on one side and descends towards the vast forests of Pokljuka on the other.
2017, The Bus Bar, Kuta, Lombok, Indonesia.
A Dutch couple asks us if the pizza is ok and we start talking.
Aart and Britt come to Slovenia and spend the first couple of days with us.
The end of 2017. No plans for New Year's. The least we could do is spend a few days somewhere nice. So we went to Kras - Karst region of Slovenia, and spent 3 days in an amazing atmosphere. Our whole experience revolved around our accommodation - Hotel St. Daniel. The plan was to see Stanjel - a picturesque hilltop village.
Awesome weekend in Goriska Brda. Roadtrippin', visiting some wineries, eating good, drinking better.
It was a fine Saturday as we headed down to the seaside. I've been to Trieste three times already, but this was the first time I actually got to walk around to see the sights.
No work Wednesday. Holiday Wednesday. A famous Slovenian poet died 170 years ago Wednesday.
I haven't been to these parts all that much so it was fun to rediscover some spots and find some yet unknown.
I probably make a trip to Pericnik waterfall at least once a year. It's one of the best-known waterfalls in Slovenia, located in the Triglav National Park. Winter time, however, offers something special.
Our second time visiting Luce and staying at House Raduha. Breznik family was happy with the photos I took in the summer and they invited us back for another treat. This time we chose a night in the hayrack.
November 2016 - the closest the Moon has been since 1948. These are a few quick morning snaps from my window and some evening shots of Mt. Triglav.
Done. Told you Imma do it :) It was a perfect afternoon/evening for the Mangart hike ...
A lovely Danish couple came to visit Slovenia. They wanted to do some hiking - me and Luka took them to Visevnik (2050 m). We decided on a sunset hike as I was working in the morning ...
I've read somewhere that everyone eventually returns to Iceland for a second trip. True dat. We got our tickets for a winter adventure and we'll be spending a week in the north again!
Snow Cave is the highest-lying tourist cave in Slovenia with an entrance altitude of 1530m. A 45min car ride from House Raduha lies this intriguing cave with temperatures from 0 to 4°C to cool off the summer days ...
"House Raduha is located in the old centre of Luce. It got its name from the Raduha Mountain, which slopes down a ridge to the rocky threshold Breznica right at the edge of the village. The only things separating the house and the Breznica threshold is the Savinja River and our garden, which features living units in a beautiful architectural distribution.
House Raduha, known among the locals as 'pri Medetu', has been welcoming guests ever since 1875. The cooking skills of grandmothers have helped hone the mastery of granddaughters for four generations. You will rarely find such an inspired combination of tradition and modern influences as in House Raduha."
Time spent in central Slovenia, under Kamnik-Savinja Alps. Velika planina is a plateau of vast meadows, mooing cows, unique wooden cottages and fantastic views of Kamnik-Savinja Alps ...
Hiking around Mangart saddle with great views all around. Mangart is Slovenia’s fourth highest mountain with a very convenient access - the Mangart road (Slovenia’s highest road). We didn't ascend the mountain itself but merely circled around the plateau. Next time we'll surely conquer it.
